Fundraising Through Facebook
By Rick Henderson
Now that your organization has a
Facebook page. It is time to drive your members to your page.
Accumulating likes and posting pictures is one way to have your
members “like” your page. Many organizations use Facebook to
convey important information such as registration or other
significant events. Facebook can also be used to drive your
fundraising.
You can send out event notices to all
your friends to promote donations to be sold at a garage sale. This
type of fundraising requires a significant amount of time and effort
not including volunteers to organize the event plus promotion to the
community.
The latest fundraising program is to
use Facebook in conjunction with online auctions. Social Media and
technology have come together where your Facebook page can promote an
online auction or garage sale to your members plus the millions of
other members who are can view online items. The benefit to any
organization are quite simple.
- Organization receives financial benefit for each member who signs up.
- Your members can bid on extremely low priced items (up to 50,000 items).
- Your organization benefits from each bid and sale.
- Members can sell items of their choosing on line and your organization benefits.
- Millions of people can see and bid to purchase at auction. Your organization benefits from the sale.
Once your organization is setup it can
sit back and enjoy financial rewards for a very long time.
